MSUN students and faculty participate in International Ocean Camp in Taiwan

Two students from the College of Marine and Allied Sciences, Jonalyn B. Ordoña and Franzel Mae G. Mendoza, along with faculty member Ms. Lovella R. Calala, are currently representing Mindanao State University at Naawan at the prestigious International Ocean Camp being held at National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) from October 20 to October 25, 2024.

This six-day program, sponsored by NTOU, is designed to strengthen partnerships with sister universities, including those in the Philippines, while promoting Ocean and Maritime Science, with a particular focus on Taiwan's contributions to these fields. Participants are engaged in a comprehensive schedule that includes lectures on ocean and maritime science, Chinese language classes, and field trips to explore Northern Taiwan's coastal regions.

The ongoing International Ocean Camp is providing participants with an immersive educational experience, combining hands-on learning with cultural exchange. This platform is expanding their understanding of maritime science and fostering collaborations between NTOU and its partner institutions, including MSU at Naawan.

As the program continues, our students and faculty are gaining valuable insights and deepening their appreciation for ocean science and international cooperation. This experience reinforces MSU Naawan's commitment to academic excellence and global engagement while opening avenues for future collaboration in marine science and education.
